Aim & Scope of the Journal

NDU Scientific Journal is a peer-reviewed, open-access, quarterly scientific journal published by Naxçıvan Dövlət Universiteti. The aim of the journal is to provide a highly reputable platform for researchers worldwide to share their original scientific contributions.

Fields of Coverage (Scope):

The journal accepts original research papers and review articles in the following broad areas:

  • Humanities and Social Sciences: History, archaeology, linguistics, literary studies, philosophy, sociology, law, economics, and pedagogy.
  • Natural and Mathematical Sciences: Mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, ecology, and earth sciences.
  • Engineering and Innovation: Informatics, information technologies, computer engineering, and green technologies.

What We Do Not Cover:

To preserve high scientific quality, the journal does not accept manuscripts containing:

  • General educational essays or reports lacking scientific novelty or experimental data.
  • Papers without a robust, modern literature review and bibliography base.
  • Localized reports of narrow regional significance that fail to engage an international scientific audience.
  • Submissions that violate academic integrity, including plagiarism, duplication, or ethical breaches.

Target Audience: The journal is directed towards the global academic community — PhD students, independent scholars, researchers, practitioners, and scientific policymakers.

Geographical Focus: The journal has a universal and international focus. We welcome contributions from researchers across all continents and foster global integration through our international editorial board.

Types of Accepted Manuscripts

The journal publishes manuscripts in the following categories:

  • Original Research Article: Major contributions presenting new methods, experimental results, and comprehensive discussions.
  • Review Article: Critical reviews of existing research trends and prospective developments in a specific scientific field.
  • Short Communication: Brief reports presenting preliminary findings or urgent discoveries.
  • Case Study: In-depth analyses of specific, practical scientific cases or anomalies.
  • Letter to Editor: Professional feedback regarding published articles or contributions to active scientific discussions.

Frequency, Languages & Foundation

  • Languages: Azerbaijani, English, and Russian. A comprehensive abstract, keywords, and title in English are mandatory for all submissions.
  • Publication Frequency: Quarterly (4 issues per year: March, June, September, December).
  • Year Founded: The journal has been actively and continuously published since 1997.

History of the Journal

The NDU Scientific Journal was established in 1997 under the title "Scientific Transactions of Nakhchivan State University". Since its inception, it has served as a pivotal academic platform for presenting cutting-edge research in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Azerbaijan at large.

Over the decades, the journal has evolved in terms of academic rigor and layout standards. In 2018, it obtained official ISSN numbers for both print and online publication, facilitating international reach. In 2024, the journal underwent a comprehensive digital migration, introducing standardized Digital Object Identifiers (DOI prefix) for all papers and fully adopting COPE ethics policies to support global indexing requirements.
